Project: Boosting Open Medical Informatics Applications in the Ongoing Digitalization of Healthcare
Cambio CDS AB has together with a researcher at the Health Informatics Centre (HIC), Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics (LIME), Karolinska Institute, engaged in a Vinnova funded project to boost open medical informatics applications in the ongoing digitalization of healthcare.
In short, this project aims to increase and accelerate the learning within the field of medical informatics, particularly within the area of open clinical data standards (e.g., OpenEHR and HL7 FHIR), by improving applications tools for creation of standards-based clinical models and apply them within education and industry. According to previous experience, it appears that current tools are difficult to use, and learning materials lacking.
By working together, Cambio CDS and HIC LIME KI have the objectives to:
1 – strengthen insights within the development of tools for creation of standards-based clinical models,
2 – improve those tools by expanding collaboration between the two organizations, also in educational activities,
3 – exchange skills and experience, also in standardizations within medical informatics, from scientific and/or technical perspectives, for improving tools for creation of standards-based clinical models, and enabling their use in education and industry.
In line with Sweden’s Vision e-hälsa 2025, Cambio CDS together with KI wants to improve the opportunities for students and other stakeholders to learn more about the practical use of open medical informatics applications in the ongoing digitalization of healthcare.
